Welcoming the Newest RTS Scholars at Camp Ready

As the July heat settles in, we’re still feeling the warmth from last month’s Camp Ready. 31 new Scholars officially joined the Ready to Succeed family, but they didn’t do it alone. Alongside RTS staff and current Scholars, they were welcomed by the most important part of the community: you.
Whether you helped set up dorm rooms, volunteered in a professional development workshop, or cheered Scholars on from the stands, your support made it all possible.
For new Scholars like Sammie, RTS is already unlike any other organization he’s been with. He’s always known he wanted to be a financial advisor, but the path never felt within reach. Earning a degree was just one part of the picture. Building connections and landing internships felt like a complete other hurdle.
But that all changed at Camp Ready.
On the very first day, Sammie was surrounded by a community that believed in his potential. He connected with dedicated volunteer professionals who offered insights and mentorship for his career journey. He met his one-on-one Career Advisor to be his support system through college and beyond. And most importantly, Sammie met fellow RTS Scholars who share his ambition and passion to succeed.

Thank you for supporting Scholars like Sammie and all college-going foster youth as they not only graduate college, but also launch their dream careers.

Mission
RTS empowers youth impacted by foster care to graduate college, launch successful careers, and reach their full potential.
Begin to Build a Relationship
We know you care about where your money goes and how it is used. Connect with this organization’s leadership in order to begin to build this important relationship. Your email will be sent directly to this organization’s Director of Development and/or Executive Director.
RTS gives youth who have experienced foster care the promise that every young person deserves: that chance at graduating from college and a future that they choose. More than 80% of kids in foster care want to go to college, and RTS is there for them when they arrive at its doorstep.
Furnishing Dorms, Creating Comfort, and Building Community for Foster Youth
Ready to Succeed’s (RTS) Project Dorm Room began by supporting 75 students and has since equipped over 900 foster youth with the essentials needed for college dorm life.
With more foster youth than they can serve, RTS aims to expand their reach and impact next year:
• $225,000 fully sponsors 300 students as they move into their new dorm rooms.
• $750 fully outfits one dorm room.
• $500 provides sleeping and personal items.
Foster youth have faced immense challenges growing up in the system – now, in college, they deserve the opportunity to thrive. Supporting Project Dorm Room ensures these students aren’t overlooked, giving them the foundation they need to succeed.
